Field Preparation and Transplanting |
– Deep plough the land for 4 – 5 times to bring to a fine tilth. Incorporate the entire quantity of FYM.
– Prepare channels at 1-2 metres apart and make basins at 75 cm to 1 metre intervals depending on the crop.
– Apply the entire quantity of basal dose fertilizer in the basins and mix thoroughly.
– Plant the seed in the basins and irrigate immediately. |
| |
Irrigation |
Irrigate the field once in 5-8 days depending on soil type and climatic conditions. Avoid excess watering. |
| |
Weeding |
2-3 weedings are needed for best growth |
| |
Harvesting |
Harvesting begins 55-65 DAS (depending on the crop) and continues for 8-9 weeks. |

CAUTION |
Do not use the grain harvested from hybrid seed based crops as seed for the next crop. Doing so will cause a drastic reduction in crop yields due to segregation and loss of hybrid vigor. |
